About the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine
The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine offers comprehensive general pediatric care to children from birth through adolescence at North Carolina Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Comprised of 23 pediatricians, one nurse practitioner, and a PhD specialist in health behavior and injury prevention, our division is active in patient care, teaching, advocacy, and research. We are responsible for the medical care of children in the newborn nursery, the inpatient hospital setting, the outpatient clinic (including well child care) and the pediatric emergency department. We also staff the child abuse call system through the Beacon program. The Division is linked to the UNC Injury Prevention Research Center through three faculty. The Division is also linked with the Child Medical Evaluation Program, a statewide program for diagnosing child abuse. Inpatient CareOur faculty members attend in two week rotations.
