Medical Education

The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Faculty is actively involved in medical education across the hospital. The faculty and fellows support the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Interest Group for Residents (PIG) with regularly scheduled events to discuss career choices, journal clubs and other information relevant to the field of critical care medicine.

Simulation Center

As the new co-director of The Clinical Skills and Patient Simulation Center, Benny Joyner, MD is creating a new Simulation Center.

With the assistance of a simulation committee led by Dr. Joyner and Afsaneh Pirzadeh, MD, a Simulation Curriculum has been established for the Children’s Hospital with regularly scheduled simulations enhancing education of physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and pharmacists across N.C. Children’s Hospital in locations such as the pediatric clinics, the PICU and the pediatric wards.
