Children’s Advocacy Centers of North Carolina

This is an accredited chapter the National Children’s Alliance, the national umbrella organization for CACs. CACNC provides technical support, annual training opportunities and other resources to professionals working in the child abuse field.

National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome

This organization provides education, training and other resources on the recognition, treatment and prevention of shaken baby syndrome (now called abusive head trauma). Resources for families affected by this form of maltreatment are also provided.

North Carolina Child Treatment Program

The mission of the NC Child Treatment Program is to improve the health and functioning of infants, children, adolescents and families coping with attachment difficulties and trauma. A roster of providers who have completed a learning collaborative and demonstrated clinical competence and adherence to treatment model standards. NC-CTP collects performance and outcome data and collaborates with professionals and state entities.

North Carolina Pediatric Society

This is the state chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. This society works through collaborative partnerships with a variety of health and medical organizations and child advocacy organizations. NC Peds Society advocates at the regional, state and federal level.

Period of Purple Crying

This organization provides educational programs to educate caregivers about infant crying behaviors and to reduce the incidence shaken baby syndrome (now called abusive head trauma).

Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina
This organization works to make child maltreatment prevention a priority in North Carolina and to ensure that all communities have the knowledge, support and resources to prevent child abuse and neglect.
