Pediatric Schedule (PGY-1 and PGY-2):

The American Board of Pediatrics requires the following schedule for the Pediatric portion of training:

• 5 months Inpatient Experience
• 3 months NICU
• 1 month PICU
• 4 months Emergency Medicine/Acute Illness (at least 2 months of EM)
• 4 months Subspecialty Experience (at least 3 months of core subspecialties)
• 1 month Adolescent Medicine
• 1 month Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics
• 1 month Normal Newborn Experience
• 4 months Electives (vacation included during these months)
• QI Project

During the Pediatric years, residents are considered pediatric residents and should participate in the offered Educational Opportunities.
