Evening of Scholarship, 2011 May 13, 2011 4:00 pm MBRB Building Visiting Denny Lectureship Dr. Virginia Moyer February 17-18, 2011 This year’s visitor is Dr. Virginia Moyer, Professor of Pediatrics and General Pediatrics Section Head at Baylor College of Medicine. Her particular area of expertise is evidenced based medicine and she is currently the Deputy Editor of Pediatrics. Visiting Denny Lectureship November 19-20, 2009 Dr. Manco-Johnson is the Director of the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center at the University of Colorado Denver. She has been at the center for over 20 years and is a renowned expert on pediatric hemophilia, specifically joint disease prevention as well as neonatal and pediatric thrombotic disorders.

Triennial Meetings
2005 Audit on Adolescent Care October 14-15, 2005 The featured speaker was the Denny Visiting Professor, former UNC medical student, and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard, Catherine M. Gordon, M.D., M.Sc. On Friday, Dr. Gordon spoke on Adolescent Bone Health and on Saturday, Pathophysiology and Management of Anorexia Nervosa. The rest of the academic program dealt with the care of the adolescent and included topics in the fields of psychology, nutrition, endocrinology, sexuality, and sports. Dr. Carol Ford, UNC’s Director of Adolescent Medicine organized an excellent program featuring a number of UNC faculty members and a visiting faculty member, Dr. Maria Britto, former UNC Resident and now Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at the Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center. A cocktail hour and dinner were held Friday night at the Kenan Center and an Ice Cream Social, Pig Pickin’, and picnic were held Saturday afternoon at Camp New Hope.
